Rob Owens, PharmD, received his doctor of pharmacy degree from Mercer University in Georgia. He went on to complete a pharmacy residency at DeKalb Medical Center in Atlanta and an infectious disease fellowship at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. He provides clinical services as a pharmacy specialist and codirector of the Antimicrobial Sewardship Program. Dr Owens is Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Vermont College of Medicine and serves as a faculty member in the Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program at Maine Medical Center.


Published over 100 times in peer-reviewed medical and pharmacy journals and coinvestigator on numerous studies, his pharmacologic interests include antimicrobial pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, stewardship, economics, and therapy in geriatrics. He is a consultant to the AntiInfective Advisory Committee of the US Food and Drug Administration, on the editorial boards of Pharmacotherapy and Diagnostic Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, and serves as an ad hoc reviewer for several other journals.
